I'm a wedding planner and I recently helped with a wedding where the bridesmaids wore black and pink bridesmaid dresses and let me tell you, it was breathtaking! And such a wonderful solution to one of the worst problems we encounter when planning a wedding - choosing the bridesmaid dresses. This has got to be one of most difficult tasks the bride encounters. Choosing a menu might seem like a daunting task, finding the proper venue that not only suits your theme but is also available on the day you want it might seem nearly impossible, and paring down your guest list so you're only inviting a crowd instead of a small country might cause a few arguments.

But none of these tasks remotely compare with the agony of defeat involved in choosing a bridesmaid dress that expresses the theme of your wedding AND looks good on every girl in your wedding party. It's just not possible. And even if you do find a style that YOU like that YOU think looks good on everyone, you're going to have at least one of your bridesmaids who absolutely hates the dress and she'll feel uncomfortable all day. And who wants a mopey bridesmaid on the most wonderful day of your life? Let's face it, when choosing dresses for your bridesmaid, you'll never experience the thrill of victory!

Now, I've seen a lot of brides who just don't care what their bridesmaids feel like in those awful creations of fuchia taffeta and floppy hats. The bride wants what SHE wants and everyone else can take a hike. These brides firmly believe that it's their day and nothing and nobody else matters. They're partly right. It is their day. But you want your guests and everyone involved in your wedding to be happy for and in a celebratory mood. You don't want them wishing you were dead as they walk down the aisle ahead of you.

But the bride at this wedding certainly knew what she was doing. And you could tell she also knew her bridesmaids. They were absolutely radiantly beautiful, each and every one. The bride had decided to have her girls wear black and pink bridesmaid dresses but with one special twist. She told each girl to go out and buy whatever black dress she wanted. Her only requirement was that the dress had to be either all black or black with a just touch of pink or white in it. And the dresses all had to be tea length and sleeveless. She also told everyone that they would be wearing some type of pink sash at the waist so they should choose a dress that would look good belted.

This was such a perfect solution! Every woman knows what she looks best wearing and what she feel most comfortable wearing. So each girl was able to chose a dress that fit the occasion and her own body type and style. The bride provided pink sashes for everyone, and even the sashes were different for each girl. Working together, they each chose a sash that looked best with their dress and their body type. And of course the bridesmaid's bouquets were pink and white carnations which really tied everything together. I think this was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been associated with and it was simply because the bride was thoughtful enough to let her bridesmaids choose their own black and pink bridesmaid dresses.

Black Country T-shirts - How it All Began!

If you've seen people walking around areas like Dudley, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, Tipton and Cradley Heath wearing t-shirts printed with words such as "Yow Cor Spake Propa", "Ar Bay A Brummie, I'm from the Black Country", and "You'm Avin a Loff", then you probably wondered where they got them from.

Well, they're from a website called TeetShirts - if you go to Google and search for them, you'll find them straight away. There's also a link at the bottom of this article to take you there.

TeetShirts was started in 2007 by a pair of schoolfriends Warren Smith and Steve Pitts. They were sat in their local pub one evening, talking about what they wanted to do with their lives, and then suddenly the idea of Black Country T-Shirts came to them. T-Shirts printed with slogans showing pride in the Black Country.... they quickly set up a shop and it took off in a big way, and very quickly.

As well as selling t-shirts bearing Black Country slogans, they also make t-shirts for stag and hen parties, staff uniforms, and birthdays & holidays. Whatever you need printed on a t-shirt, they can do!

The guys have also been featured on national radio and local television thanks to their Black Country Alphabet song, with a video featuring t-shirts with slogans such as "B is for Nana", "H is for Oss", "P is for Tateer" and "U is for Um".

How come all of my successful black friends have non-black girlfriends?

Three of my friends, two are engineers and the other owns a landscape business all have non-black girlfriends.. Have nice houses and drive nice cars but out of the five years i known and grow up with them i NEVER saw them around black women unless it was family members.. I remember we all went out for a drink and brought up Tyra Banks being hot and they said, they like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Salma Hayek. Etc

i've noticed that in school sometimes and i asked one of them once and they said because black girls are trashy. sooo maybe thats why.
