Hello and Welcome… I am Dr. Pamela… with the FREE YOUR SOUL Community… Where We Reverse Conditioned Beliefs and Raise Our Soul-Esteem™.

In this article, we are going to reverse a conditioned belief that has long been a myth perpetrated upon women everywhere, and that is… External Beauty.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Most women see their flaws and imperfections. That is because you are looking at your outer physical image and judging it against an arbitrary set of standards that was imposed upon you, both long ago as well as in the present. In other words, a standard of beauty is being determined by where you were raised as well as the culture you were born into, that you then, as a woman, feel forced to adhere to.

During this extensive conditioning process, women begin to internalize these arbitrary standards that were imposed upon them initially, but now seem to have taken over as the set standard of beauty that each woman aspires to.

So what’s wrong with this picture?

I don’t know about you, but when I was growing up, I was completely self-conscious about everything physical in regard to myself. I felt awkward in my body and couldn’t find too much about it that pleased me or gave me confidence in my appearance. Now the truth is that I heard from people around me that I was pretty… but I had no idea what they were talking about. You see... this notion of physical or external beauty was such an illusion to me, that not only could I not relate to it, but I could not see its existence in my outer shell.

However, every time I caught a glimpse of my inner Self, my Soul Self, a true and abiding beauty was revealed to me. I began to see it, feel it, and know it on a very deep level, and came to understand that this was the true beauty that we as women need to aspire to… and not some arbitrary standard of beauty set up by men, designed to objectify us and keep us from attaining our true inner beauty and raising our Soul-esteem™.

So what can we do to reverse this conditioned belief?

We begin by changing the way we look at ourselves in the mirror. Instead of scanning your face and body for its flaws and imperfections, gaze deeply into your eyes – the windows to your Soul – and begin to perceive the inner beauty that emanates from your True Self. Tell yourself silently or out loud, “I AM Beautiful.”

And what is magical about this is that the more you engage in this activity, the easier it gets for you to summon forth your sense of  your true inner beauty and the more natural it becomes for you to emanate that beauty and Light to others. And therein lies the key to exposing the myth of External Beauty while freeing our Souls and raising our Soul-esteem™.

Let me share with you the secret of the mirror

Let me share what is known only to the Sun Goddess

It is a secret so powerful

It will free you from darkness

A secret so delightful

It lets warmth dance in your heart

A secret so illuminating

It allows you to know yourself

A secret so simple

All you need do is open your eyes

The secret is

In the light of the sun

In the eyes of the mirror

You are Beauty.

What type of paint is used to give an old upholstered sofa (in good condition) a new life?

Upholstery is in very good shape, but color is rather blah. Just want to freshen it with a completely different color. Have seen one that was painted & it was beautiful, but the only information received was that wall paint was used. Can you use it straight from the can?; must it be diluted?

There is no way to paint the fabric of an upholstered sofa. For leather there is a paint-like product for changing the colour, but any paint applied to a fabric sofa would a) seep into the stuffing and take forever to dry; b) probably crack and show age/use terribly; c) risk colour transfer to your clothing; and d) there would be no guarantee how it would look.

If your sofa is just "rather blah" purchase a nice throw or fitted slipcover for it or even just a pile of nice throw pillows to liven it up. Good luck!
