Any reason for why Xbox just shows a black screen?

I have brand new versions of Star Wars Force Unleashed and Rock Band 2. Both games are in mint condition with no scratches or dirt. When i put Rock Band in, it works. When i put Star Wars in, it goes to the dashboard then it loads the game but it gives me a black screen. Any ideas why?

Just like the guy said in the first answer, it is probably a defective disk... when I bought NHL 08 last year, no scratches, nothing on it, and it would say Unreadable disk at the second period of a game. Likely a coding issue when they were writing the disk, just take it back and swap for a new one.
