Here are some more information for Cameras Disposable:

No doubt you've already been confronted with the trend of disposable wedding cameras on the reception tables. It's a cheap, easy way for the bride and groom to obtain candid shots of their wedding and, on the surface, might sound like a good idea. I've been to several weddings where disposable cameras were available at the tables, and I've yet to see a photo-decent or otherwise-from the effort, and I wonder why. Then I remind myself of what was in front of those cameras when I saw the flash.
We wedding guests know the happy couple has hired a professional photographer to handle the posed photos as well as the reception photos, so we're on our own to pick and snap subjects from what's happening around us in our little corner of the reception. Here, in no particular order, are the top ten images newlyweds find when they mine those disposable cameras for golden memories:
-
Couples at the Table
The obvious first choice. Someone picks up a camera, points it at couple #1, who immediately tilt their heads toward each other to make sure they're both in the shot, slap on a happy grin and wait for the flash. Then it's on to the next couple, who follow suit, so all the couple photos look alike. Next time, I'm going to grab my guy and kiss him hard just before the flash goes off-nothing like a little variety. -
The Centerpiece
Clearly more interesting than the table setting in front of him, the disposable-camera geek at the table will get an artistic shot of the lovely centerpiece. If there are 15 tables at the reception, there will be 15 shots of the centerpiece at different tables. Think collage. -
An Old Aunt Adjusting Her Dentures
Eighty -year-old Aunt Gert gets a piece of lettuce from the salad caught between her dentures and her palate, with no recourse but to inconspicuously slide her upper plate forward and dig with a finger to catch the culprit and put it on the side of her plate. Unfortunately, it wasn't inconspicuous to the teenage girl across the table looking for something to shoot with the disposable camera. -
Underneath the Tablecloth
A guy thing. He just lifts up his edge of the tablecloth, slides the camera under the table, points toward the woman with the shortest skirt and hits the button. For a second, their table looks like the mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion, then everybody calls the guy an idiot and, a week later, the newlyweds spend a couple of hours staring at the photo imagining what it might be. They never figure it out. -
The Shooter's Own Face
And why not? There's a lot of pressure for guests to use those disposable cameras. After all, the bride and groom have given them this important responsibility, and by golly, they're going to get a few shots on their cameras to prove they took their assigned task seriously. After the couple shots, there's not much left but to turn the camera around, hold it at arm's length and treat the newlyweds to an overly bright, close-up image of-a guest. Suitable for framing. -
Close-up of a Mouth Eating the Chicken Cordon Bleu
Not only is it a close-up of a mouth eating Chicken Cordon Bleu, the mouth is open and food is dropping out because the eating guest is yelling at the shooter not to take the photo while she's eating. This shot is usually worth getting enlarged and framed. -
A Kid Having a Tantrum
He's a six-year-old kid lying on the floor, crying and screaming his lungs out because Mom wouldn't let him have the seventh piece of chocolate featuring the happy couple's photo on the top. Ooh, boy! The newlyweds are gonna love this one! At least it's not the centerpiece! -
The Happy Couple Visiting the Table
Because you can never have enough photos of the bride and groom... Too bad the keepers of the cameras didn't think to get shots of the newlyweds with each couple at the table. Nope. It's just a shot of the bride and groom smiling and saying hello. Riveting. -
The Dessert
Typically the wedding cake, but you never know. Regardless, it's something new at the table, and the paparazzi are going for it. Be sure to turn the iced side of the cake to the camera. It's much more interesting that way. -
The Most Drunk Person at the Table
The second-most obvious choice. It's impossible to resist creating a lifelong memory of Cousin Shelia's eleventh-hour table dance when she was sure almost everyone had left the reception. If she had been right, we would have missed the shot of all the guys, tuxedos in disarray, shouting at her to "take it off." Fortunately, there are still lots of shots left in the camera when she finally does. Smile!

How Can I Use Digital Cameras To Save The Planet?
The issue of hazardous waste receives less attention than other environmental threats, with over 80,000 chemicals now in existence - not counting the additional 1,500 new chemicals developed on a yearly basis, with many being introduced into the industry fields. There seems to be insufficient data demonstrating the effects of every chemical out there, but what data is available shows that human health and the environment is in trouble.
The good news is, of all the environmental threats, the hazardous waste issue has the most successful solutions available to it. Scientists state that hazardous waste could be reduced about 1/3 by using the available technology and methods already present, such as using the more recently developed digital cameras.
This is because as more and more people moved away from conventional cameras for easier photography with higher quality results, they were unwittingly reducing the use of chemicals that were earlier being used to process the film. These chemicals, especially the developer and fixer solutions, had become serious environment hazards.
The United States laws have required that the "spent chemicals" should be made inert before they were disposed off in landfills. But more often than not, most film processing centers released the chemicals into the drain because of high expenditure involved in treating them before discharge. This was especially true of the smaller and locally owned companies, along with individual photographers, not only in the US but across the world.
But they were not the only ones who broke the laws, as the cruise ships in the international waters did even more damage. Routinely, developed pictures that were shot by the ship's passengers had their the film-processing chemicals dumped 'en route into the open ocean, since no restrictive laws applied to international waters. This plays a major part why our oceans and green reefs are dying at a rate faster than the rain forests.
Due to the development of the digital camera, incidents such as the environmental issues on cruise ships are not occurring as often. The same can be said of ponds and rivers that used to be polluted with chemicals flowing out of film processing labs, incidentally which still flow out of such labs in the third world.
Very few people take prints of the photographs today with the digital camera and have them processed in a lab, as most transfer the images into computers electronically and then print them out or send them via email. Also, used cartridges are usually recycled or dumped into landfills, very rarely finding they're way into major water bodies.
Similarly, the scale of impact is very low when it comes to rechargeable batteries yet still there in regard to alkaline batteries. This is because most of the batteries are rechargeable and no consumer disposes them till they are full exhausted. This means that an alkaline battery may continue to be used for weeks depending on the amount of camera usage.
Also, being a solid waste it is more likely to end up in landfills than in water bodies, causing more damage to the grassland or dirt in the area. An alternative to alkaline batteries for environmental safety is the NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery or the Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) batteries as they are environmentally friendly. So, if you are a nature lover dump your conventional camera and get a digital camera, with safer batteries.

can you turn a disposable cameras flash into a small lamp ?
ive seen a few things around on the net about changing the flash rates and etc and alternate uses for camera flash bulbs and the electricals associated with them and i had a thought ... a flashbulb in the cheap disposable cameras is just a small xenon right? doesit have to just flash ? isit possible to make a powerful torch or something out of also what other uses for them ?
Not really practical. It needs the very high voltage discharge to light it for the very short nano-sec. duration of the flash and a longer flash cycle would destroy it.
