Whats the special lens for aviators that actual pilots are going to wear.?
I was talking with my CFI about some stuff and he mentioned a special type of lens designed for pilot use (in our awesome Aviator shades) and since I need a new pair of presciption sunglasses anyway, I figured I should get that so I can use them up in the air only I can't remember what it's called. Any help?
Are you asking about the adjustable focus lenses that are now out? There are some http://www.trufocals.com/
Not that they are readily available just yet but they do have some advantages for pilots but at nearly $900 not sure they are worth the cost.
More than likely you just mean non-polarized lenses since you really do want to pick up "glare" off of other aircraft. The CAA has some good guidelines for sunglasses http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=49&pagetype=90&pageid=9244
