Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition- The Pathfinder

Released in October 2009, the new Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition comes almost a year after the original 5800 XpressMusic was released. On the exteriors as well the interiors the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is exactly the original 5800. What Nokia has tried to do here is that they have included lifetime subscription to pedestrian and vehicle voice-guided navigation licenses along with access to the latest version of the Ovi Maps. Like the original version, this one also comes with a 3.2 inches TFT resistive touchscreen of 16M colours. Built-in are proximity and accelerometer sensors that facilitate auto turn-off and UI auto-rotate. Excluding the 128MB RAM, the internal storage memory of the device rest at 81MB. This can however be expanded very conveniently up to 16GB by using external cards. An 8GB microSD card preloaded with the Ovi Maps is included in the standard sales package.

The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is basically a GSM phone with a quad-band reception and a 3.5G support. High speed data downloading is available through 3G HSDPA at the rate of 3.6 Mbps. Class32 GPRS and Class32 EDGE allow convenient speeds for browsing mobile Internet by using a built-in WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML web browser. This Symbian S60 device runs on an efficient 434MHz processor from ARM that ensures faster speed and response time. Wi-Fi with UpnP technology allows the phone to access any local area network while the built-in Bluetooth and USB port ensures that data can be shared among compatible devices in the most convenient way. The most notable feature in the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is the inclusion of the navigation application. Apart from the Ovi Maps, it also includes touch optimised Nokia Maps 2.0 version along with regional maps which readily synchronise with the built-in GPS receiver. The large touchscreen allows the phone to be used as a good satellite navigator to be used in vehicles as well. The standard retail package also includes a car mount and a car charger.

Similar to the XpressMusic version, this one too is a very versatile device that provides both communications services and multimedia entertainment. The media player can cope with most forms of file formats including WMV, RV, MP4, 3GP, MP3, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC and M4A . Apart from that, a stereo FM radio with RDS feature has also been included in the ensemble to allow users to enjoy their favourite radio shows or music. The phone camera in this device is a 3.2 mega pixel unit fitted with world-class optics from Carl Zeiss providing a maximum resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Also included in this imaging facility is an auto-focus feature along with dual LED flash. This camera allows videos to be recorded in VGA mode at the rate of 30fps. Other significant features that can be found in the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition include Voice command/dial, TV-out point, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Photo editor, Email and IM. Priced slightly higher than the XpressMusic version, this Navigation edition will be available in Black and Chrome colours. The standard Li-Ion battery supports music play time of up to 35 hours apart from providing a talk time of 5 hours and a standby time of about 408hours while using in 3G service.

Is Windows XP Home Edition as compatable with things as standard Windows XP?

I've tried to download a different browser - EVERY single one of the majors such as Google Chrome, IE8, Opera, Firefox - and it didn't work. I've tried to download numerous drivers and none of those were compatable with the operating system. I've attempted to put music on an MP3 player that needs no software, but the driver isn't compatable with the Home Edition. I've used Windows XP flawlessly, done all these things on it, but I have never been able to do so with Windows XP Home Edition and I don't understand why!

So is it this operating system or is it not?
Tried to update before; my computer refuses point blank to access the page.

Your XP Home Edition is likely un-updated. Most software nowadays will no longer work with ANY XP that has not been updated to at least Service Pack 2 (SP2). XP is currently at SP3 with a ton of individual updates on top of that.

In Internet Explorer click Tools > Windows update.
