i want to sell my photography equipment on ebay. its equipment for dark room black and white photography. i have the enlarger, easel, chemistry, trays, tongs, pretty much everything needed. the enlarger works fine as well as the timer. everything is in working condition, even though some stuff is a little old. i even have a box of 500 sheets of paper. how much do you think would be a good starting bid for it on ebay? thanks in advance for the help.

Unfortunately, darkroom equipment seems to have a very low value today. Digital cameras + computers + Photoshop + high end inkjet printers have changed things so much that the hassle of setting up and running a darkroom is too much for most people. The last chemical-based work I did was several years ago and it involved shooting medium-format film, developing it myself, and scanning the negatives and printing them myself. The last darkroom printing work I did was maybe 5 years ago. I sold off a similar setup on Ebay in maybe 2003 and got about $300 for everything...

I would say that you should not expect to get much for the actual equipment. If the paper has been well kept and is a year old or less, then you might sell it separately. I have a bunch of paper (like thousands of sheets) and I'm finding myself throwing it away now because it's almost 10 years old and I simply can't do anything with it. But people who have current darkroom setups may want to get some fresh paper for a good deal if you can reassure them that you've kept it properly.
