like my friend got me a fish eye.. but i don't know how to use it. does it need film? does it need battery? like what do i do?

ASA 400 film will work for most situations. Make sure it's 35mm film, not 120 medium format film (Although I guess you don't know what that means. Just get "normal" film).
The camera will require a double battery (AA) in order for the flash to function.
It's basically like a digital point and shoot, only film and fisheye. Call it "advanced" made me chuckle (No offense Bob, I know you didn't understand what s/he was talking about ;] )
