Here are some more information for Film Classic:

Chances are, if you ask ten different people what their favorite movie of all time is, you will get a different answer each time. However, if you ask them for a list of what is, in their opinion, top classic movies, chances are good they'll choose some of the same.
These classic movies can be broken down into many different lists. They can be categorized by genre, by age, by ethnicity of director, even by blockbuster status. Below is a list of classic movies that span all of these.
Wizard of Oz, 1939, directed by Victor Fleming. This classic film won 2 Oscars. It is classic because it withstands the test of time, has deeper social meaning, and is well loved by adults and children alike even today.
It's a Wonderful Life, 1946, directed by Frank Capra. This film was nominated for 5 Oscars. It stands as a classic today and is usually aired around Thanksgiving and holiday time. It is a touching story about finding the true meaning in your life.
Gone with the Wind, 1939, directed again, by Victor Fleming. This movie won 8 Oscars and is a timeless, beautiful story about the American Civil War era, one of the true top classic movies.
Citizen Kane, 1941, directed by Orson Welles. This film won the Oscar because it is a ground breaking directorial debut which has spawned much inspiration, even today.
Casablanca, 1942, directed by Michael Curtiz is a favorite among many. This film won 3 Oscars, and is quite often referred to as one of the greatest American films of all time. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, how could they be wrong?
The Godfather, 1972, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, won 3 Oscars. Starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, The Godfather was and always probably will be, one of the most highly respected films of our time.
The Graduate, 1967, directed by Mike Nichols. This film won the Oscar for the year, and was a rather saucy film for its time in that it dealt with a young man having an affair with an older woman.
Schindler's List, 1993, directed by Steven Spielberg. Won 7 Oscars, and was a disturbing, eye opening movie about the plight of Jews in World War II, Spielberg added a gem to world's list of top classic movies with this one.
Psycho, 1960, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. This film was nominated for 4 Oscars. Starring Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh this film ushered in the era of a new and improved terror film. It has been the inspiration for an incalculable number of Hitchcockian thrillers.
ET, 1982, directed by Steven Spielberg. This film won 4 Oscars and maneuvered its way into the hearts of everyone who viewed it. It took the "scary" out of what had been known before only to be large headed, bald, green extraterrestrials.
House on Haunted Hill, 1959, directed by William Castle. Throwing the contest party of a lifetime, Frederick Loren invites strangers to stay in a haunted house for the night, whoever makes it out alive wins $10,000.
This is just a minor taste of all of the top classic movies. There are dozens more to choose from each genre and decade.

Legally Blonde Tickets - New Film Classic Hits The Stage
Legally Blonde tickets are available for this highly-anticipated stage debut, and if the on-stage production rivals the film, thespians are in for quite a treat indeed. The show has become legendary for several reasons, and the film set the stage not only for the theater production, but also for a sequel that also experienced success in the theaters. Below we'll take a look at the story, the history of this story and what to expect when the musical opens this spring.
The Story
The story is a classic tale of misjudging someone's image, as the star of the show, Elle, is a pampered Southern California girl who is portrayed as a bit of an airhead in the beginning of the plot. She loves her boyfriend, and expects him to propose to her before he heads off to Harvard Law School. However, he breaks off the relationship instead, stating that her frivolity will ruin his lifetime ambitions.
Elle is crushed, but her will remains strong, and she manages to gain admittance to Harvard Law School as well. When she arrives in Boston, she is met with much resistance at the tried-and-true tradition-laden school, but she eventually wins over much of her class, especially when she decides to apply herself and moves towards the top of the academic rankings.
Elle ultimately gets a clerkship at a firm along with her ex-boyfriend and his new fiancée, and the end of the tale is quite riveting for several reasons. We'd tell you how the plot is resolved, but you'd be much better-served getting Legally Blonde tickets for yourself and seeing how this California girl makes good.
History
The original film was released in 2001 to mixed reviews from critics. However, the show enjoyed tremendous commercial success, so much so that producers got together and wrote a sequel that was released in 2003. Even though sequels in general have been met with fair results at best overall in the history of film, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde, was also an enormous success.
The Next Step
As a result of this success in theaters, Hal Luftig, Fox Theatricals and Dori Berinstein got together and decided to put together a theater production for the story. The show debuted with a preview in San Francisco on January 23 of this year to rave reviews. The show will premiere at the Palace Theatre on Broadway on April 3, and if you want to see an emerging classic live, get your Legally Blonde tickets now.

A classic children's film for a night on the sofa with the nephews and nieces?
Looking for a classic/ all time great film to sit down and watch with my nephews. Sort of thinking along the lines of something that isn't a modern one but a bit of an oldie, the sort of thing that children loved in the 'olden days'; Any ideas and reasons why?
btw - their ages are from 6-11, boys and girls
Thanks!
A couple of Disney films spring to mind - Dumbo, Lady & the Tramp, Fox & the Hound....
There were a few fantasy films I loved as a kid - Flight of Dragons and the Last Unicorn, The Princess Bride, Dark Crystal or Labyrinth.
Otherwise some old Laurel and Hardy or Buster Keaton would probably do the trick - I watched Way Out West last week and laughed till I nearly cried.
