A movie review gives indication as to whether or not others will find the movie worth watching. The purpose of most movie reviews is to help the reader in determining whether they want to watch, rent or buy the movie. The review should also give enough details about the movie so that the reader can make an up-to-date decision as to whether to watch the movie or not. At the same time, the review should not give away too much of the essential plot of the story.

In this article we will be discussing the guidelines that should be followed while writing a movie review. Before starting to write a review, the writer should remember the following procedure:

- Selecting the movie

- Knowing the context of the movie, such as it's director, actors, story and many more

- Formulating the writers opinion in one sentence

- Selecting special scenes from the movie or other facts that will support the writer's opinion.

The first step in writing the review is to watch the movie. Most take notes as they watch the movie. Watching the movie a second time helps to absorb a lot more detail about the movie. Most movie reviewers give their personal opinion of the movie in their review. In all good journalism, the reviewer should always give impartial details, and allow the reader to make their own opinion as well.

Reviewer's opinions should be explained to allow the reader to determine whether the readers would agree or not. The reviewer also needs to consider the audience. Writing a movie review for children requires a different approach than if writing for a general movie audience. The review should always be written keeping the targeted audience in mind. The main essence of the movie should be retained in an outlined sketch -- but it should always be remembered not to give away any essential details like surprises or a sudden turn in the plot.

Details of actors, crew members, directors should be mentioned in the review. It should also be mentioned how well they have acted and how well the movie has been made technically. The technicalities are an important part of the review. Technicalities include art direction, music, editing lighting, cinematography and many more.

Movie reviews even include a little bit of criticism if needed. Criticism says what could have been done to make the film better or what the weak points of the movie are. Though critical analysis is not always needed, a word or two can serve the purpose in a movie review.

Conclusion

A reviewer must always remember to give an outline of the whole story, but not give away details which hold surprises or the special essence of the film. It should be kept untold for the audience to watch the film. The review should be written keeping a note of the types of readers who would be reading the review. The language, presentation and technicalities of writing would also depend on the types of readers. The medium which the review will be published is also important, because if the review is published on the net, the reviewer will get mostly youth readers. However, if it is going to be published in a local language in a local daily newspaper, then the approach should be different.

Aladdin (DVD) Review

Anxious to follow up on the massive commercial and critical success of Beauty And The Beast, Disney created another animated masterpiece with Aladdin. Although not nearly as successful in terms of critical acclaim as the aforementioned film, or later Disney creations such as The Lion King and Finding Nemo, Aladdin is nevertheless just as entertaining and probably the funniest of all the animated Disney features. With the voice of Robin Williams leading the way, the film is a non-stop foray into the timeless fantasy world of A Thousand And One Arabian Nights spliced together with the rapier-like wit and quick-fire humor of one of America's most talented comic performers...

The film takes place hundreds of years ago in the windswept sands of the kingdom of Agrabah, where a young street urchin named Aladdin wanders the streets, stealing and hustling for survival. Along the way, he's joined by his loyal companion Abu, a clever and enterprising monkey. Yet, in stark contrast to the poverty-ridden streets below, the lustrous facade of a massive palace towers high above the urban world of Aladdin. Inside, the Sultan of Agrabah lives a carefree life of opulence and luxury with his beautiful daughter Jasmine and a cunning, ambitious adviser named Jafar.

Forced to spend her days inside the palace walls, the headstrong Princess Jasmine sneaks out in order to experience the world around her. During this dangerous trek through the streets of her kingdom, the girl befriends Aladdin who is immediately awestruck by her beauty. But when Princess Jasmine's escape is brought to the attention of Jafar and her father, she is quickly rounded up, and Aladdin is thrown in prison. Hoping to seize the kingdom for himself, Jafar enlists the aid of Aladdin in an effort to obtain a fabled magic lamp, the purported powers of which are unlimited. Legend has it that only a "diamond in the rough" is capable of retrieving the lamp from the Cave of Wonders. All others will be swallowed whole by the endless sands of the desert.

When Aladdin fails in Jafar's quest, he is left for dead. But he soon discovers the mysterious lamp and the blue genie who resides within. Granting Aladdin the ultimate power of three wishes (with certain conditions such as not wishing for more wishes or wishing for someone to fall in love with you), the genie transforms Aladdin into a powerful Prince, thus making him eligible to marry Princess Jasmine. Riding into Agrabah at the helm of a triumphant parade, only Jafar knows the true secret of Aladdin's identity and his success, and he's determined to scheme and connive until he gains control of the magic lamp himself...

Aside from Robin Williams, this film is easily forgettable. With him, Aladdin is transformed into a legendary blockbuster hit. In fact, the later appearances of comic voices in animated films such as Shrek (Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy), Mulan (Eddie Murphy), Finding Nemo (Ellen DeGeneres), and The Lion King (Nathan Lane

Should we be concerned that the western media is manufacturing fake news to help the palestinians smear Israel

http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=22943

Very disturbing, particularly the part about film being spliced together to simulate an attack that never happened. This is going on more and more. Hamas attacks Israel with rockets. Israel responds and destroys the rocket launchers and the media reports it as Israel attacks defenseless palestinians. In this case, they even went so far as to report events that never happened and manufacture film footage to make it seem like it happened to blame several civilian deaths on Israel. Unfortunately for them, the truth has come out that Hamas is actually to blame for these deaths (possibly on purpose). This has happened several times before. We are being lied to by our news media to advance something incredibly sick. What exactly are the motives of people in this country who want to support Hamas? These people are allies of the terrorists and they control our news. Thank God for the internet.

Really funny.'Cos all I see in the media is Hamas is attacking Israel and by the way they are attacking Israel 'cos the Israeli army as killed a few civilians.Like this has no importance at all. While, when it happens the other way around the media has to transform it into an international tragedy. This is what i find disturbing.
