Does the 2006 V-Star 1100a Classic need an oil filter relocation kit?

I know that on the older yamaha v-star 1100's you must remove the pipes to get to the oil filter but from what I can see of the 2006 on the showroom floor, there is no need to remove the pipes. Is that true? I just bought a 2006 v-star off ebay and am waiting for it to ship.
