I dont have a filter or press coffee kit but a packet of ground bean. How do I make decent coffee?

I saw somebody use tiolet paper as a filter once. I don't remember what it tasted like. It doesn't seem like a real good idea though. You can also just put the coffee in a pot of hot (boiled but not still boiling!) water and let it sit for a few minutes. Then supposedly if you add a few drops of cold water it will make all of the grounds sink to the bottom. Then you can carefully pour the coffee off the top. I have done this while camping but it always comes out a little chewy.
