Is it possible to fix the 3 red flashing lights on my Xbox 360 RIGHT NOW?

So you're staring at the 3 red flashign lights on your Xbox 360, and you're wondering if you should tear into the thing yourself and try to fix it.  There is one huge question you need to ask yourself before you proceed. Is my Xbox still under warranty? If it is, then please, friend, do not be a fool. Send the thing in. It will take some time, but you will save yourself more frustration and aggravation if you rip into the thing without the correct guidance. You must listen to this next part very carefully. If your Xbox is under warranty, and you simply cannot wait to get it back from Microsoft, then you gotta get the right guide to fix it yourself, because you WILL BE VOIDING THE WARRANTY, Microsoft will not repair it, and you will be forced to buy a new one, and the 3 red flashing lights on your Xbox 360 will be the least of your worries Please don't listen to those silly YouTube videos. They don't work. Hot towels, pennies, even sticking the thing in the freezer. Really?

There is one thing you can do if you were lucky enough to get the fault code e68. There has been some success with taking a hairdryer, setting it to it's "cold" setting, and blowing through the Xbox, and blowing off all the connectors (ie. HDMI, AV, Power, hard drive connections). No, not because blowing it off will cool it off, but because that particular fault code is indicitave of a minor connection failure, usually dust or dirt in one of the many connections. Usually, the 3 red flashing lights on your Xbox 360 means that some part of your system has succumb to heat. The CPU has overheated, the X-clamps have overheated, something. You don't need me to tell you to keep your Xbox in an area that gets plenty of air, and keep the unit itself and the "brick" (power supply) cool and free from dust.

So you've got the 3 red flashing lights on your Xbox 360, it's under warranty, and you've decided to fix it yourself anyway. Now what? Don't do what I did with my first 360. Just like you, I took to the internet for a solution. I ripped into it, broke the warranty seals and wound up not fixing it because I didn't know what I was looking for, and the crap I was finding on YouTube wasn't helping. So, instead of using my warranty and waiting a few days, I was out a few hundred bucks when I had to buy a new one, all because I didn't know two things:

1: What I was doing, or looking for.

2: That there is a guide that would show me those EXACT two things.

The simple conclusion is this: If it's under warranty, SEND IT IN. I know, nobody wants to wait, but I sent my second one in, and you know what? I'm still alive! It didn't kill me. But if you must tear it open, then get the only guide out there with a 99.9% success rate, and all of the available support you could ask for. For under thirty bucks you get full access for a year, and if you don't fix it, you get your money back!
