Here are some more information for Focus Screen:

When a person has stopped growing, and their eyes are progressively getting worse, it is probable because what is called "near point stress". At risk: office workers who work on their computers all day long, also students researching and chatting with friends on line. And, Facebook Users, who sit for hours and write back and forth. What about avid television/movie watchers. When you wear corrective lenses, contacts or glasses, then the muscles of your eye can only be can only be resting when you are looking at an object a minimum of about 20 feet away. So how often does an office worker, a Facebook user, a student actually look away from the screen or TV? Not too often, we know that. If you focus on anything, like a monitor, television screen, book at less than twenty feet, then your eyes will actually have to accommodate to do that - that is they have to actually change the muscles to focus at less than that 20 feet.
So, when you work or study, you spend hours with your eyes pulled into one position. Just imagine yourself taking your fist and clenching it, and keeping it clenched for hours and hours at a time. Maybe even doing that all day/ or all evening long. Then, try and open that clenched fist. It doesn't work that easy, you fingers will be stiff and non responsive. The same happens with your eyes. After hours of near focus, they will not be able to relax and work properly at distant focusing. And then after months, weeks of this kind of near focusing you will receive a new prescription change. And then when you hit your forties, your muscles will likely break down more and you will need bifocals.
Because of this, always choose to get the weakest prescription glasses possible. The stronger prescription glasses that you have, the harder your eyes will have to work when you are doing your near sighted work. In fact, it might be a good idea to wear a weaker pair of glasses while doing "near" work. This is kind of like making a loose fist, instead of that tight fist we talked about. This will make it much easier to change to distant "looking", and therefore not worsening your eyes. If you wear contacts, consider changing them to reading glasses for certain occasion.
And, there is one more important thing you can do to help yourself. Every ten minutes, take a break and just look down the street through a window, or at a far away object for a few seconds, or look at something across the room, or down the hall, or wherever you can look away to that is a fair distance away, like about 20 feet or even more.

Skin Cancer Screening: Unknowns and Advantages
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, melanoma takes the life of an American nearly every hour. The most tragic part of this statistic is that when this cancer is discovered early, before it affects the lymph nodes, five-year survival rates are as high as 99%. Because early detection is the key to successfully treating this disease, screening procedures are encouraged for everyone, especially those who fall into the high risk category for skin cancer.
While skin cancer screening should be an important part of any person's healthy lifestyle, those with risk factors for skin cancer are advised to be particularly diligent with the screening process. These risk factors might include a fair complexion, exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light over long periods, numerous moles on the body or a family history of skin cancer.
Screening for skin cancer is generally a two-step process. The skin is examined by a medical professional and if a suspicious area is found, a biopsy is often performed. The biopsy is an important step in the screening process, since skin cancer cannot be accurately diagnosed simply by appearance. Once the diagnosis is made, treatment can begin. The earlier treatment is started; the better the prognosis for the patient.
There are three types of skin cancer commonly diagnosed; squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma occur on the outermost layers of skin and are generally the easiest to treat when they are detected early. The third type of skin cancer, melanoma, often occurs in the inner layers of skin and accounts for up to 75% of all skin cancer deaths. It is this cancer that skin cancer screenings are most focused on finding, since early detection can greatly increase survival rates.
There have been some risks associated with skin cancer screenings, according to the National Cancer Institute. Screenings that detect cancer in later stages may not improve a prognosis if the cancer has spread to other areas of the body. There is also a risk of false results from these screenings. A false positive can give a patient an unnecessary scare while a false negative may cause the person to delay treatment. Biopsies that are done as part of the screening process may result in scarring or infection in some patients.
Despite the risks associated with skin cancer screening, the process is still highly recommended by the medical community as the best way to decrease the number of deaths caused by this type of cancer. Screening is generally done annually or as recommended by the patient's dermatologist as a means of early detection and effective treatment.

Where can I find a replacement focusing screen for a Pentax K1000 SE?
I landed a Pentax K1000 SE for almost nothing! Everything, including the light meter, works perfectly; however the focusing screen looks like it died and went to hell! It appears as though someone tried to clean it with some sort of solvent, which practically ate through the surface; as a result, I need to find a replacement focusing screen, preferably for next to nothing. It doesn't have to be the SE version, with a split image, or even originally made for the K1000, so long as it fits. Anyone care to point me in the right direction? Any names of other brands/models of focusing screens, which will also fit the K1000, along with where they can most commonly be found, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I've already looked around on eBay, but no luck. Even "pentax-club" was all out. Any other ideas?
