Everybody has goals and dreams. These dreams are at the center of who you really are. It is the core essence of who you are as a person, and the very purpose of your BEING. What you are dreaming of accomplishing in your life is God's way of getting you involved in his Master Plan. You were gifted with a set of dreams and talents, in the hope that you would act out these passions, follow your dreams and thusly move forward in life.

It's really a great pity that we've been told already since early childhood that we should stop dreaming and start "living." What a mistake! Living IS dreaming! This is exactly why we are here: to pursue our dreams! Not for selfish reasons, but for the sake of everybody. By following MY dreams, I am becoming a better person, a happy person, shining brightly like a sun, lightening up the lives of those around me. If I decide to forget about my dreams, then I will become like a plant without water or sunlight, leaves hanging down, begging for water and looking rather miserable. Am I of any help to myself or to the world when I abandon my dreams?

Your dream is the reason for the way you are! Your dream is not a coincidence. Your dream IS who you are. You SHOULD pursue it! Your dream gives you a sense of meaning and purpose, and drives you on into your chosen future. Your dream IS the meaning of your life!

Why then does it seem to be so difficult to follow your dream? First, because of the anti-dream-program running in your head, a program installed when you were just a kid. Second, because your dream is always outside of your comfort zone. Pursuing your dream requires conscious effort, growth and change; this can feel somewhat uncomfortable in the beginning. You may experience some fears and worries, but this is normal. Don't focus on the fear, but focus on the dream. This way the dream becomes more important to you than the fear. Spending your life in fear and worry surely isn't part of the Master Plan.

Ask yourself this question: "What do I really want? Realizing my dreams, or getting stuck in my fears? Do I choose to follow my dream and harvest satisfaction, freedom, happiness and abundance? Or do I lock myself up in my room with my good old irritation, lack of energy, fear, fatigue and depression?" The choice is yours.

As long as your dreams appeal more to you than your fears, you will find the energy and courage to move on.

Your dream is your calling, something you HAVE to do to fulfil you. COMMIT yourself to it with your entire being. Express your faith in the Master Plan. Say, "I don't know HOW I will do it, but if I just believe in it and follow my dream, then the Universe will show me, step by step, how to proceed." Have faith, take action, and then watch what happens.

Your dream is linked to your mission here on earth, your unique calling in life. The seeds of your dream have been sown in your heart and mind, and it is your job to help them grow, to develop your talents. Usually your dream will involve being of service to others to make their lives easier, better, more joyful and more beautiful. What is YOUR contribution to other's lives? Exactly how do YOU make their lives better? What do you ADD to them? Is it beauty, joy, enthusiasm, faith, music, art, paintings, fragrance, motivation, a smile, some hope, self-esteem? What is your specialty? The key is making some contribution to the betterment of humanity.

CHOOSE to follow your dream. It is your responsibility. You must do it. It's part of God's Plan. This is His way of helping this planet uplift it's energy. Isn't it wonderful? By following your dream, not only do you please yourself, but you are also uplifting the whole of humanity! If you ignore your dreams, do you realize how many people will be affected? It is God's Plan and therefore it can never be selfish.

The more you pursue your dreams, the more exciting your life becomes! God is going to use you in ways you never imagined possible. And the only side effect is: feeling GOOD!

Get your dreams off the shelf! Put your goals in front of you, and follow them. Focus. Strive. This IS what you should be doing, this IS what you are here for! You are here to dream, and to live your dreams! Live them out and live it up! This is how things were meant to be. It's time to get back to basics. The essence of your life is your dream! What have you always been dreaming about, ever since you were a kid? Visualize it, define it, and then go for it! Become happy and share that happiness with the world.

A 'goal or Focus' in Life Makes Better Achievers

It is a well-accepted fact that having a focus or a goal in life makes that person a better achiever. We all focus on something or someone at some stage in our lives whether we realize it or not. Perhaps it acts as a magnetic force that drives one forward, to achieve greater things in life. Many people believe in God and some may have faith in the paranormal to achieve their goals.

It is good to have something to look up to whether it is God, an idol, a priest or a fellow human being who has reached the zenith of his career. The three wise men had a star to focus on all those years ago on their journey to pay homage to the infant Jesus. The three ancient star-gazers focused on the eastern star to arrive first on the scene carrying gold, frankincense and myrrh and the three of them were quite aware of the importance of having that 'eastern star' as their focus.

Belief in anything, be it God almighty, an earth god, astrology or numerology, it is guaranteed to be alien or incomprehensible to those who do not hold same ideas. Yet, while it is easy to dismiss the beliefs and ideals of others as misguided or meaningless, it is difficult to have no opinion about what lies behind our existence. The variety of theories to which question of life or focus is attributed is endless that has evoked many conflicts. One may find many similarities in a Christian praying before a crucifix, a Hindu or a Buddhist chanting

before a deity, a Muslim facing Mecca for his prayers, someone yearning to be like his idol or an ardent politician standing by his convictions whatever his aspirations are; each of them would find incomprehensible differences in their worship. While the varying nature of their deity, spirit, convictions or focus may be quite obvious, they all indicate a need to be in touch with a superior force or to look up to some one who has achieve

d greater things in life: following his/her path would reflect the same need.

An individual's personal conviction may be based on multitude of systems of beliefs, past and present; one believes in God, different faiths or an object or a person influencing that faith. The shroud in Turin is such an example. There are many who believe that the shroud is Christ's burial cloth. The shroud seems to arouse so much love and hate. It has the power to entrance even the practical minded and intelligent people. In April 1998, scientists claimed to have identified the blood group of Jesus as AB, after the tests done on the shroud. They feel that it is more important to believe in it rather than look for proof; they want to believe in it instead of doubting its credibility. This again reflects how human beings like to have a focus in life for their survival or to attain greater things in life, spiritual or otherwise or perhaps even refrain from things that are hazardous to their health.

To have a faith and to have faith in ones beliefs should form an important part in any ones life. It makes one more organized in life aiming high to achieve that goal; having a focus in life will help fulfilling that dream. Children try to please their parents and students their teachers, who help them to be better achievers and excel in their chosen profession. One feels obliged to fulfil the ideas and ideals of the person one looks up to.

The object of  'focus' may be quite different in value and authenticity, but it will be of great importance to the person concerned. It may help to put an emphasis on devotion and adhere to a well-defined moral code. One feels a deep-rooted desire to follow ones idol or the object of passion, without deviating from the right path; almost driven by the desire to please God, the object or person one looks up to. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that ones object of devotion stands for everything that is good.A force that reflects a need to be in touch with a superior force can drive the path of achievement; with appropriate human responses this can influence the lives of many of its believers.

Which of the following problems would you focus on first and why?

Pretend that a conservation organization hired you to lead efforts to reduce the loss of biodiversity in a tropical country. Which of the following problems would you focus on first and why: habitat destruction and fragmentation, hunting and fishing activity, harvesting of wild species for commercial sale, or introduction of exotic organisms?

The answer is all four--because failure to address any one of those factors would result in the destruction of the ecosystem in question. But I would set a set of time-oriented priorities--as follows:
1) stop introduction of exotic species. This is the easiest and least difficult to "get done" politically
2) Commercial harvesting. This is extremely destructive of the environment--and a region can be stripped in extremely short periods of time. Harvesting should be allowed on a regulated basis so that speciies are not stress beyond sustainable levels.
3) destruction fo habitat. Essentially this means stopping development, except to the extend it is low-impact enough not to degrade the eccosystem. This is the most destructive--but takes longer to play itself out--so there's more time to act.
4) hunting and fishing--this isn't usually a problem. Legitimate hunters and fishermen/women are supportive of conservation and support licensig and limitations that preserve the habitat.
