What stands in the way of you and your dream of being able to shoot in the 80's on a consistent basis? Your driver and your putter stand right in your way, and as soon as you tame them you will be able to break 90 on a regular basis.
To see how much of an impact your putter has on your score, count up how many times you three-putt in a round and how many times you two-putt. It is unreasonable to think that the regular golfer can consistently one-putt every green, but if you reduce all of your three-putts to two-putts and half of your two-putts to one-putts then you will probably have a score that puts you closer to breaking 90.
Most rounds are made or lost on the green; as soon as you get your putting under control the sooner you can start playing better golf.
When you are trying to break that 90, the key is to get the ball off the tee and out into play. Of course you are trying to avoid going out of bounds and too deep into the woods, but a hook or a slice are acceptable as long as the ball is out there. Consistently doffing your drives, or coming over the top and hitting 90 yard worm-burners, will keep you out of the realm of scoring in the 80's.
Get the ball into play by making good contact on every drive, and you will find your score dropping significantly. You may have to get a little better at recovery shots, but some work on your driving should help prevent too many miraculous saves.
Dear golfing friend, if you are asking the question, "how can I play better golf more consistently?", I would urge you to consider learning as much about "your game" as possible.
The one key ingredient I have left out, that is vital to your success on the golf course I will share with you on my blog. Check out these free Golf Instructions [http://www.golfinstructionsblog.com/conquer-bogey-golf-ebook/?mmf_mas_aid=10138].

Clap For Your Golf Grip
You do not have to look past the PGA, LPGA or Champions Tours to see there is not one conventional way to take your golf grip on a golf club. The tours have all types of grips from an overlap golf grips to interlocking golf grips to ten finger golf grips and even cross-handed grips. Ben Hogan outlined his thoughts about the grip in his classic book, The Modern Fundamentals. Your proper golf grip should feel comfortable to you. However, there are fundamentals for your proper golf grip. By simply clapping your hands together you can easily test your golf grip fundamentals. Here is how you do it.
When you are ready, allow your arms to hang naturally. Now take your regular golf stance without a golf club. Since your do not have a club to grip, stand with your palms flat together. Notice how the palms of your hands are parallel. Now that you are in you proper set up with your palms being parallel to each another, this results in a good golf grip fundamental. If your hands are not parallel to each other, your hands with fight against each other trying to get back to impact.
With your palms of your hands being parallel to each other, your hands will now work together as one unit.
Now, take your golf grip on your golf club. Straighten out your fingers while still holding the club in your hand and open your palms just wide enough to reveal if your palms are parallel. If your palms are parallel, then you have this grip fundamental conquered. If your palms are not parallel to each other, you need to work your hands around on your club until your palms are parallel. Now retake your golf grip. You need to realize that this new feeling should be your new grip.
The palm of your right hand as well as backside of your left hand will be facing your target if you choose to assume a neutral grip. A higher handicap player typically needs to use a stronger grip to release the golf club. For a stronger grip, the back of your left hand would be tilted towards the sky with the palms still parallel.
This article about your golf grip gives you a quick way to test a fundamental part of your proper grip. Once you are able to insure that your grip includes that your palms are parallel to each other, you should be lowering your scores soon. Your golf handicap will be falling as a result as well.

WTF is the Base Knuckle? (Tennis)?
Im reading some grip instructions (Eastern,Semi-Western etc.) and i can't understand what they mean with BASE KNUCKLE.
Can someone point this out. Pictures would be helpful too.
If I had to guess, I would say it was the knuckle which is the farthest away from the tip of the finger. In other words, the knuckle on any given finger which is at the base of that finger as opposed to near the finger nail. If not, then my second guess would be the one in the middle of the finger, but not the one closest to the nail. Maybe to avoid confusion you should refer to tennis grip instructions from another source, like another website or book or video or wherever you came across this particular term. It may be that there are other tennis grip tutorials which don't refer to this "base knuckle" and explain the whole thing in a less ambiguous and more easily understood fashion.
