What are the 'must-haves' lighting equipment for a camping trip?
Well, these are the basic ones, if you must include in your camping supply checklist. Feel free to bring a lot more if you feel the need to power up the whole camping site. The nocturnal animals need some good lighting once in a while.
But seriously, here are the must-haves;
Must-Have Number #1 - Flashlight (that includes spare batteries)
What is a camping trip without flashlights or what some would call torchlight? Never, ever set out to a camping ground without one. That is almost as good as saying don't go camping without a flashlight. Reasons are simple and it becomes clearer on your camping site. Things get displaced easily at night, and looking for that transistor radio, or that can opener, or whatever small little objects that you need is easier with a flashlight.
Must-Have Number #2 - Picnic Lanterns (again, that includes spare batteries)
Picnic lanterns are battery-operated lanterns, usually the big D-sized batteries. It tends to consume energy fast, so unless you do not have a big campfire burning, or your site lacks the proper lighting, then I suggest you use one. But try not to switch it on throughout the night unless you have lots of spare batteries to go around, of course.
Must-Have Number #3 - Cyalume Sticks (My son calls it the mini light-sabers)
These mini light-sabers come in different colors, green, blue, yellow, red, etc. We usually use them as color markers to indicate the toilet area or the restricted area or any hazardous sites at night. Break it, shake it and use it with a string. It does not have a strong illumination but is good for ambient lighting, nevertheless. They are cheap but last only for the first 8 hours.
Well, these are some of the must-have lighting gear that you need to include in your camping supply checklist. Like I said, feel free to bring along the generator if you want to, but hey, it is a camping ground no less. Enjoy and have fun!

Outdoor Wall Lanterns - Using Low-Voltage Lighting
When people are buying their house, one of the first things they notice is the curb appeal of the house. Curb appeal is defined as the way a house looks as soon as they get out of the car. The same thing holds true for visitors to your backyard. The way you have designed the landscape of your backyard will make the difference between a good first impression and a lousy one. Outdoor wall lanterns can turn your drab backyard into a wonderland of style. They can do it by also being very Earth friendly.
When designing your landscape for your backyard, most people will focus on the look and style of the lanterns themselves as well as the geography of the backyard itself. One other aspect that many people will then decide on is whether they will go with wired lighting or with solar powered lighting.
When deciding on wired lighting for your Outdoor Wall Lanterns, the choices are between low-voltage lighting and their regular-voltage cousins. Everyone knows what the regular wired lighting is so we will not need to explain how it works. Low-voltage lighting, however, is clearly the choice for those who want to minimize their carbon footprint while minimizing the hit to their wallet when the monthly electric bill comes. A low-voltage system uses a small transformer which converts the 120volts from your house to 12volts so they can be easily used by the lighting fixtures.
The components of low-voltage lighting consist of the transformer (or power pack), the low-voltage lamp (or light fixture) and the low-voltage cable which runs between the transformer and the lamp.
Low-voltage lighting is extremely flexible and very easy to use. As plants grow and the geography of your landscape changes, the lights can be easily moved. What is more is that low-voltage lighting does not require extensive electrical knowledge to install ( no master electrician needed - just following the installation guides will be sufficient). In fact, low-voltage lighting is so easy to install that most low-voltage Outdoor Wall Lantern installations can be finished in under two hours while using only a screwdriver.
One additional benefit is that low-voltage lighting is also safe around children and pets. This is due to the shockless aspect of its design.
When you take into consideration the ease of installation, low-cost and safety issues, low-voltage lighting is a very attractive option for you to consider when choosing to use wired lighting in your landscapes.

How do you know where to start in a long running comic book series?
So I am a real comic book novice, I have never really read them before but I would really like to start. The only problem I have is that I have no idea on where to start. So many of the comic book series have been going for so long and there's so many story arcs and so forth its really daunting to think about starting one. I really want to read Batman, Green Lantern, Iron Man, Flash, Spiderman, and a couple more. But I have no clue on where to begin with Any of them. Are there any online guides or anything that can help give sort of a idea on where to begin with any of them? Any help is MUCH appreciated ^_^
There are two points at which it's easiest to jump on.
The best? When you find out that a new writer has come on board. Usually, the new writer will keep to the established back-story (examples: Superman is still an alien from Krypton and not a stunt man who went to space and got bitten by a sentient radioactive meteor; Batman's parents died in a mugging that he witnessed as a child. He didn't wake up one morning and say "now what can I do with last year's Hallowe'en costume?") The new writer rarely, however, continues the previous writer's stories. So while you may find a few general references, they usually add nuance if you know what they're talking about but you won't be lost without them. (example: "The last time I fought this guy, he had an army hiding around the corner. I'd better be careful." Do you really need to read the issue with the fight to enjoy the current issue? No. But it might make you want to look for it.)
Next best is to find out when a current story arc is ending and jump in with the next one. If it's the same writer, s/he may build on recent events but you still shouldn't be too lost.
Wikipedia is usually pretty accurate on comic book characters, if you want to do some research. And, while I'm not into Marvel enough to be able to point you toward equivalent fan-sites, I would recommend dcuguide for DC background and rasalghul for Batman specifically.
