Everybody likes to take pictures and to make small movies during their vacations. These are your memories and they need to be kept in a special place. However, accidents happen and you could delete some pictures from your camera by mistake. Don't worry, as there is one method to restore deleted pictures from SD card or other types of memory card easily.

Unlike the files from the computer that will go to the Recycle Bin after deletion, the pictures from your camera will be erased permanently. However, the SD Card has a small cache memory capable of holding minimal information. This is why it is possible for you to recover the erased pictures, but only by using specialized software.

When the SD and memory card appeared on the market, nobody thought about how to restore deleted pictures from memory card. This is why people would lose important files and nice pictures all the time. The companies moved fast and released some useful software that could perform this kind of recovery job. Nowadays you could find a good software for recovering pictures but be sure to get a licensed one since a pirated version might do great harm to your computer.

When it comes to memories, we shouldn't think about money. Buy software of this kind and connect the memory card to the computer. Even if your SD card is small, it might take some time before the scan is over. The software will present you a list of the pictures that could be recovered and you should find your files there. The steps to restore deleted pictures from SD card are simple to follow, as there is no technical stuff involved; just get a rated recovery software and the rest is history.

Sometimes it is hard to restore deleted pictures from memory card so the best solution for this problem is to prevent it. Be sure to copy all your pictures from the memory card to your computer at regular intervals and also to keep some files on external support. Even if you lose one or two pictures, the rest of them will stay safely on your computer forever.

Restore Deleted Pictures is easy to do with Data Recovery Software. If you Scan Your Computer it will detect and recover all the accidentally lost, deleted digital photos, pictures, mp3 and other files from your hard drives, camera memory cards (SD Card), USB drives and other memory storage devices.

A Thing of Beauty

John B.

This is my fourth Mac and they keep getting better.I had some reservations about the glossy screen and even though it does reflect it works and works very well.I loved the matte screen but this has taken little time to accept and get used to.

Now,the track pad and this is impressive in that it is not a gimmick and eliminates so much clicking and dragging and fishing around for back buttons and the like. And all done with subtle gestures on the good sized trackpad.Be sure to activate the tap to click function so you can use this subtle method to click or secondary click or drag with one finger. No need to go up for a back button to go back page-just swipe three fingers.Desktop and expose can be activated by vertical swipes, etc. It even has a lighted keyboard for a poor typer like myself.

The case is of course milled from a solid piece of aluminum and along with the Mac OS this is a thing of beauty.Apple is to computers what Leica is to cameras so even though I never got that Leica I do have this Macbook Pro in my hand right now.Treat yourself if you can.

Apple MacBook Pro MC374LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop

A Mac, a PC, a Work of Art.

Joseph Ekaitis "author of Collinsfort Village"

Why drop a grand and then some on a 13-inch notebook computer when you can have one for a nickel or less? You get what you pay for. Add in everything you really, really want and you're within a few bucks of the price of this MacBook Pro.

Now consider the not so obvious, like the ability to run Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 at native speed with Boot Camp and your own copy of Windows or as a virtual PC within Mac OS X using free software like Oracle VM VirtualBox or commercial products like Parallels and VMWare. The same machine that lets you and the family surf the web in maximum safety thanks to Mac OS X can be the same one that hooks up to the office over VPN with Windows, and neither interferes with the other.

Gigabytes of commentary have been written about the engineering of this latest edition, particularly using a faster Intel Core 2 Duo chip instead of the new Core i3 or i5, but the performance says it best. At church, I run Microsoft PowerPoint to project hymn lyrics on our twin LCD projectors while using Audacity to record the choir through a USB interface from our Behringer mixer. First-person programs like NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulation run with a smoothness and fluidity that nearly mimics a real-life video shot from the front seat.

The Mac build of GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) screams through complex special effects filters like a banshee. Bing Maps powered by Microsoft Silverlight caused the fan on my previous MacBook to whine like an Airbus A340 taxiing. The MacBook Pro handles it without breaking a sweat. Remember, when you watch prime-time TV or go to the movies, you're seeing some special effects created with software running on this very same technology. Now it's yours as well.

The backlit keyboard has a satisfying feel that'll have touch typists up to speed in no time. Apple uses the nearly extinct inlaid injection process to produce the keys. The markings are molded all the way through, not silkscreened or stuck on like decals. They will never, ever rub off. You haven't seen keys made this way since the glory days of IBM and Olivetti typewriters.

Although I still use a Logitech Marble Mouse trackball (now relabeled as the Trackman Marble), the big trackpad is the best I've come across (compared to my company-issued Lenovo T400).

And, of course, there's that aluminum case and Museum of Modern Art-worthy design. It's a touch of style that makes work and play more enjoyable.

Best Russian Vintage Cameras?

I want to get a relatively good (but cheap) vintage (preferably russian) camera.

It seems that a lot of the ones that I have found on the internet are 'Leica Copies' (for example, the FED-3). Are these any good/What is the best one?

I do not know that much about vintage photography, but I want the camera to be manual (focus, aperture etc.), and preferably from 1960s/70s.
Alternatively, if there are any non-russian vintage cameras (under £40) that you would recommend.

Thanks!

CK, it's really cool you want to try out a russian camera. The best Russian camera, however, is simply one that works! Russian cameras and lenses are known for very wide quality control tolerances. People who use them typically buy several copies of whatever particular item they want to use and keep the best copy then sell the rest. It's really hit or miss. Some people enjoy this adventure, others, like me, stay away from it.

You'll find a lot of Leica copies, particularly of the 1930's Leica screw mount cameras which don't feature on board light meters, combined viewfinder/rangefinders or several other standard conveniences of most other cameras made in the 1950's and forward. Many ads will claim random, more modern (with light meters and combined finders) Russian cameras to be Leica copies simply because that is what Russian cameras are known for but they are not anything like Leica rangefinders of any era at all.

The nice thing about FED Leica copies is that the later, more correctly built ones, can actually take Leica or other M39 mount lenses that are of a very high quality. FED cameras that have actually been converted to bare Leica logos usually have new shutter curtains that are fairly accurate, which wouldn't be the case with a typical real Leica from that period, so it's sort of a cheap way of getting into Leica.

Personally, however, I prefer Japanese and German rangefinders for their reliability and nicer construction. The Canon Canonet series are popular as are the Olympus 35 series and Yashica Lynx and Electro series. Most classic camera shooters also own at least one Kodak Retina (which is actually a German camera.) Voigtlander and AGFA also maee affordable compact, fixed lens rangefinders in the 1960's. The AGFA Silette and Optima series are very affordable, simple but quirky cameras. They tend to have the unique character people enjoy in Russian cameras but with higher quality lenses and greater reliability.

So it all depends on what features you want. Most cameras from this period are fully manual or can go fully manual. The next big question is if you have a built-in meter, is the meter selenium (no batteries) or CDs (powered by a zinc air or silver oxide battery,) how fast of a lens do you want (what is the maximum aperture) and what body you enjoy.

Late model Canonets are very small and usually have fast lenses. Yashica's are quite a bit bigger and usually have fast lenses. Olympus cameras are somewhere between Canonets and Yashicas in terms of size and have a variety of maximum apertures. Olympus are perhaps the most logically laid out to me. Canonets have auto exposure and the meters don't work in manual mode, only auto, which I always found silly. AGFA's tend to have slower lenses but they have that great German bokeh and interesting design.

Feel free to email me at any point in your journey! JohnnyMartyr@Hotmail.com
