What can I use until I buy a new lens cap?

I lost my lens cap somewhere in my house. Not the cap that goes on the front of the lens, but the back that goes into the camera.
I plan on looking for it as soon as I get the chance but until I find it, what can I use to keep my lens protected?
I was thinking that I could put it in a little drawstring baggie I got with my whole camera.
I plan on using this lens later on today when I take photos of a friend so I will be using it most of the day.
