Here are some more information for Lens Excellent:

When it comes to protecting your eyes during activities, there are some new technologies you should be aware of. Here is an overview:
Lense Technology
That latest technology in lenses includes Xtreme Lens Technology, polarized Multi-Layer Filtration and polycarbonate lenses. Xtreme Lens Technology is a new technology that works to block glare but without changing the perception of colors. The lenses are coated with multi-colored flash mirror coating to reflect light for complete anti-glare protection. The Xtreme Lens Technology, or XLT, offers the wearer a smoke grey view from the inside.
Polarized Multi-Layer Filtration technology lenses are made from one piece of distortion free, ophthalic quality polycarbonate. The key to this technology is that there are no laminates included to degrade the polarization. With Multi-Layer Filtration, or MLF, the lenses block vertically reflected light and glare by aligning the crystalline structure of the lenses. This makes lenses that use MLF technology an excellent option for use during any water sports activities or around water, for snow and snow related activities as well as for driving, whether a vehicle or motorcycle.
The latest technology in polycarbonate lenses offers the advantage of being shatterproof, as well as optically correct allowing for zero distortion. Polycarbonate lenses are excellent for use in just about any lighting condition. Polycarbonate was developed by GE, and is a form of LEXAN, which is also used for bullet resistant glass in vehicles. Polycarbonate is an extremely hard material and a diamond grinding wheel must be used to cut it. One advantage of polycarbonate is that it offers natural UV protection, which allows you to have full UV protection even if you're using clear polycarbonate lenses. In addition, polycarbonate is extremely durable and resistant to breaking or shattering. It's also lightweight and very scratch resistant. Polycarbonate offers such durable and reliable eye protection, that it is the only type of lens approved and used for use by law enforcement and fire departments.
Lens Coating Technology
Different colors of lens coatings offer different advantages. For instance, grey, grey-green and smoke colored lenses are excellent for blocking glare without changing your perception of colors. Brownish and amber colored lenses are good for blocking blue light or diffusing light that is common on cloudy or overcast days. Amber colored lenses are a great option for areas with fast changing weather, since they can improve your contrast and depth perception in many different kinds of weather. Yellow tinted lenses are great for cloudy or overcast days as well, the yellow tint will help with contrast and enhance your visual acuity or the feeling of visual acuity. Clear lenses are a good option for eye protection against glare at night or during low light conditions.
Frames Technology
The latest technology in frames is called CSF, or Composite Shock Frames, which creates a low mass, low inertia frame that should bounce or move much less during sports activities. The composite material is also very lightweight, comfortable and rugged, allowing for extended use while remaining comfortable.
Lens Systems
The latest lens systems include the X Changeable Lens System, which includes multiple lenses for different conditions and activities that can be interchanged as needed.

What are YOU looking for in your next camera lens?
It is true that all lenses basically have but one function - to let light into your camera and focus it to make a sharp image on the sensor (or film) - but do not overlook the importance of choosing the right lens for the photography that YOU are interested in.
Are you into landscape photography? If so, the wide-angle lens - typically 18mm-35mm - may be what you need. The 20mm is also quite popular for shooting landscapes (as well as working in tight quarters indoors, whether shooting architecture or groups of people. A 20mm f/2.8, for example, is great for shooting in low light and is quite a fast lens.
If you enjoy wildlife photography you will, no doubt, want a telephoto lens. 70mm-300mm, 100mm-400mm and others, are available. There are also 1.4x and 2x tele-extenders you can attach to the end of your telephoto lens that will turn your 400mm lens into a 560mm or 800mm lens. If you are shooting digital, it gets even better! If your telephoto extends to 400mm and your camera ratio is 1.6+- you are actually at c.640mm - and adding a 1.4x tele-extender takes this to a whopping c.896mm! Now if you have this same lens and screw a 2x tele-extender on the end you are at c.1280mm!
That is reaching WAY out - allowing for some awesome opportunities - however you MUST have a steady tripod for sharp images. You will NOT be handholding this setup! And you will be focusing manually.
You may be more interested in portrait photography. If so - and you are shooting digital - you may select a prime lens- perhaps an 85mm - for your shooting. Perhaps a medium telephoto, such as a 24mm-70mm, would allow you the flexibility you need for a little variety.
Do you like getting ‘up close and personal' with macro photography? Then a macro lens may be right up your alley. Many of the standard lens - like Canon's 100mm macro or Nikon's 105mm f/2.8d are excellent for focusing within inches of your tiny little subject. There are also economical ways to get even closer - perhaps with a 58mm close-up lens 500D - that screws right onto the end of your macro lens. Of course, if you have the time and resources you can get into serious macro shooting with the stands, bellows, ring-lites, etc. More time - more money - but awesome images!
Is event photography your passion? Now you have to consider both focal length and speed. You need enough focal length to pull in the action and a large enough aperture to stop it in its tracks! Many pros have an extremely large prime lens - i.e. 600mm f/4. This allows pulling in the action from a considerable distance AND the ability to shoot with a fast shutter speed - without which you are not going to end up with the sharpest images. These lenses do awesome things - and at the price they cost - they should. However you CAN do great event photography, without breaking the bank!
So many lenses - so little time
Yes, whatever field of photography you enjoy, there is a lens waiting for you. Select the lens that YOU are going to use. Select the best quality that you can afford - and get out there and get shooting!

Leica Digilux 1 info and adapter for lens?
I read a review about the Digilux 1. One review stated their is no adapter,to lens to gain a wider angle, and another followed up and said that their is one availavle. Could I get some input about this. I have read dozens of reviews about the camera because I have one in mind that I am considering purchasing.
Do you think I am going to have a hard time finding software?
What price would you put on this camera in excellent conditiion with charger?
You are looking at a P&S camera .. not a professional SLR (digital or otherwise) or rangefinder Leica like the M series cameras, but a fancy P&S camera.
By nature, P&S cameras are sold as a unit ... you cannot interchange lenses. What is on the camera, is IT.
Leica is known for its superb, precision lenses and cameras. Adding a lens to the front of a Leica is counter to the philosophy of those Leica buyers and users ... let no inferior piece of glass exist between the subject and the Leitz lens. Some purists don't even put Leitz filters on the lenses to protect the front element.

This camera is over six years old, an antique in the realm of digital cameras, especially P&S cameras.
I would think $35 to $50 would be a fair price as long as it comes with all the paperwork, original boxes, CD's and cords.
Brosnan, pierce brosnan
For a chap once voted Sexiest Man in the World, Pierce Brosnan fights pleasingly shy of narcissism: certainly, he takes one look at the hotel room in which we’re meeting and moves his chair so that it sits beneath a large, gilt-framed mirror rather than facing it.
