How do I dispose of my broken camera lens?

I broke it when I let it knock against something and I got it replaced. It's from a Canon Rebel E05. I'm pretty sure it can't be fixed because the part is inside the lens part where it connects to the camera. But I could be wrong, if I am, let me know that too Please?
