Many programs have this abbility. I know AIM, Yahoo, and MSN have it and so does Jabber.

I am not sure about google even though Google is based on Jabber.

Jabber a little diffrent in that it is very coustomizable as to what can be done on it. The servers may or may not have a confrence ability. Its all dependent on how they are set up. I personally have one set up and have large groups on it often.

Jabber is a bit more modular. The confrence service is not always a part of hte same server. For example the Jabber server may be at example.com however the confrencing may be on confrence.example.com and may or may not be limited to those with an account on the main server.
