Here are some more information for Negative Preservers:

So many people say in excuse; "Well, I did my best" and they think that clears them of their responsibility of performance, accomplishment or achievement. It doesn't, it's a cop out for the weak. Weakness is not a human trait, despite what you might believe or think.
The real problem is we are raising wusses out there, we are making people weak, and we have such low expectations in our schools, jobs and lives that people think it is okay to lose, fail or underperform. Guess what? It's not okay.
So, next time someone tells you that they are sorry, but they did their best. Tell, them;
Well then, I am also sorry, sorry that I have to kick your sorry butt outta here and maybe you did your best, but guess what - Your Best Isn't Good Enough!
Then politely show them the door, tell them to get lost and never return. Yah, I know some people call me a hardass, but in the end, I'll show you my scoreboard. It shows us as
Number One, that's our number; One
.
And friends let me be the first to tell you that you do not get to be number one by piss-poor-performance from pansies. Now, I am sure some psychologist will read this article and give it the old one-star rating, because they believe that everyone should be made to feel all "warm and fuzzy" all the time and that this is hate speech?
Whatever - but I am a winner, because I am on a winning team, and we are number one, because we threw the losers overboard and we do not like to waste our life-preservers, because in the real world SOS stands for Sink or Swim. Remember that, because if you want to be great this is definitely something to contemplate in 2008.

recommended place to store negatives?
Does anybody who owns a 35mm camera know a perfect place to store all your negatives from your pictures (besides those negative preservers) that can keep all your negatives dust free?
I guess you're trying to save money by not buying the negative preservers. I go this route and i have shots from 35 years ago and could print them today. I have a four-drawer file cabinet that the photos are indexed by subject name and date.
If you are going to leave them in the packages from the photo printer then almost any box will do. The trick is to keep them cool, dry and out of the light. Negatives will not last in the heat of an attic. High moisture areas will also promote mold growth in the emulsion of the negatives. Make sure there is a lid on the box. Dust is a pain to deal with and anything you can do to keep dust away from negatives is a good idea.
Another suggestion.....label and date the outside of the envelope holding the prints or negatives. I keep all the family Christmas ....reunions,,,vacations...photos together. Way back in the old days I shot rolls of 36 photos. At family functions I never shot the whole roll so things started getting blended together....birthdays with buying the first pet. So I started buying the 12 and 24 rolls. It made it simple to keep the event in one envelope.
