Here are some more information for Photo Direction:

It is rather challenging to create wonderful portrait photography if you have bad poses. Here are few of the poses to avoid in creating stunning portrait photography.
1. Never shoot the subject head on
The body position will create a block to the light flow. It will result in a very unflattering image. The broad shoulders can add at least ten pounds to the subject. As an alternative, you can angle the subject away from the camera.
2. Never face the sun
Do not let the subject face the sun as you take their picture. You can put the sun behind them to give a nice depth to your portrait and a flattering hair light.
3. Steer clear from large eye whites
You need the subject's iris to be in the middle of their eyes. It is very unflattering if the majority of the eyes is the white area. It creates a very meager photo. You can let the subject move in to the camera's direction and focus on a midpoint or perhaps gaze you with the eyes.
4. Avoid getting too near to a background
Do not let the subject pose to be too close to the background since you will get a solid black shadow. It is important to let the light wrap around the subject to have a softer light. It is ideal to position the subject six feet or more from the background.
5. Avoid uncomfortable poses
If it does not look natural in the picture, then it is probably not in real life. Sometimes it is fun to have silly and odd poses but the customers will not like it to have rigid and awkward poses and scenes. All they will remember from the shoot is how uncomfortable and strange they feel. And that is one thing that every photographer must avoid to keep clients coming back for your services.

Photo Books, Prints And The History Of Photography
Photography is centuries old. When photography first became popular around about the turn of the century it was presided over by experienced experts. It is no longer necessary for people to be experts in photography to take good photos. Indeed the advent of digital cameras has seen it become easier to take photos and with photo technology now available on mobile phones the number of people taking photos has increased. The quality of printing has improved alongside the standard of cameras.
This means that many people now have access to technologies in their own home. This means that amateur photography can provide professional results. Especially when the photos that have been taken digitally are printed by a professional printing service.
There are a number of different ways in which these photos can be presented. Modern printing firms can provide an impressive range of different formats in which your home photos can be seen. The most popular of these remains the high quality prints that can be placed into a photo album. But many companies have taken this concept further by printing photos directly into a photo book. These photo books are bound like normal hardback books and the photos are printed onto the pages that are included in the book. It can provide a really special format in which to present photos from family occasions or holidays.
The word photography has developed from a French word which sounded similar. This French word in turn came from a Greek word that referred to elements such as light, stylus and paintbrush. The generally accepted definition was that photography is a representation by means of lines or drawing. And most directly the word photography means drawing with light. This rather poetic definition has been adopted over the years and now refers to the modern use of technology for taking pictures.
Indeed photography can generally be separated into two distinct varieties; photography for the purpose of artistic endeavour or photography for the purpose of commercial gain. The range of low cost photography options have made the use of photography as artistic endeavour much more popular as more people can afford to take up photography as a hobby. Again the range of professional options by which photographs can be reproduced make it even easier and cheaper for people to achieve professional results for their personal photographs.
Photography production has not always been as straightforward and accessible as it is today. The process of developing photographs is relatively recent with the first real production of photographs taking place in the 1820s. At these times the chemical processes involved were relatively new to scientists and finding methods of permanently reproducing images was tough. The first permanent image was produced in 1826 but the process to achieve this result took eight hours.
They were a long way from the 30 minute express service that we have these days! It was not until 1837 when the daguerreotype was developed that photos could really be stored for a time. This early version of the photograph paved the way for what was to follow and can be seen as the grandfather of the modern photograph. Without these efforts we would not have express photo printing, photos books or digital cameras!

How do you pose for a photo shoot?
I have a photo shoot coming up. I am completely new to all this. I'm not a model, but I want to attempt to look like one in this shoot. Do you have any tips on how to pose for the camera? Should I wait for direction from the photographer? Are there basic posing 101 tips anyone can give me?
Note: My photographer is an amateur too...with about a year of experience.
I might also have the opportunity to pose with a woman.
A professiona model will have a standard set of poses he or she uses to best show off what the photographer expects to see. Sometimes this is musculature, sometimes it is skin, sometimes it is one's figure. The pros know exactly how these features will look in different positions.
That jerk that says he's frustrated by models that need to be told what to do is probably working with amateurs or newbies. All I can say is "You get what you pay for."
So, as long as the photographer knows you don't have experience, then you WILL be asking him for direction. At some point, as you get more relaxed and into it, you will get the opportunity to get creative. Think of ways to hold your arms and hands. Try different stances, rotate your torso one direction and then another. Tilt your head at different angles. Point your chin. Big smiles and smaller ones. Pouts, puckers and lopsided grins can often make a good photo.
Don't forget to tell the photographer when you are tired, or some muscle aches. He can change the poses or give you a small break.
One thing you CAN'T fake is experience. But, by the end of the shoot, you will have SOME experience.
