This usually is not a big problem for cast stretch film applied by hand, but can become a problem if a machine is not calibrated correctly. Be sure and inspect your machinery on a regular basis if you are using it to apply stretch wrap. Also, take a look at the finished product, as that is an easy way to see if anything with your machinery needs to be corrected.

Last, but not least, it is very important to check both the thickness and the tightness of the application. Both in manual and automatic application, people tend to not trust the stretch film enough, and therefore apply too much and apply it too tightly. If too much is applied, it can be simply wasting stretch wrap and therefore wasting money. If it is applied too tightly, this can actually damage your boxes that you have loaded on to the pallet. If you are using a product from a quality stretch film manufacturer, a simple application of moderate thickness and tightness should do the job well enough.

These are just a few of the main aspects to successfully applying stretch film and using it economically. By following these tips, you can not only ensure that your product will arrive safely at its destination, but also that you will be saving money on packing film at the same time.

You would be lucky to find any Polaroid film still available. Polaroid stopped making film late last year. You should look for Fuji Instant films. They should be available at just about any camera store. Depending on what you are looking to do they should be able to recommend a good substitute film. Typically the Fuji films are a little better anyway so look for a compatible Fuji instant film.
