I'm looking for a camera with a fast power on and good optical zoom. Any suggestions?

I'm taking a vacation in the begining of July to Jamaica and want a new camera. Nothing spactacular but nothing to cheap either that will give bad photos. I want something that will start up quick and i would like something with a high optical zoom. Lightwieght and small would be best but something meduim in size could be considered. Any help? Thanks!
