Can someone tell that I've scanned a professional photo by looking at it?

Like is there any kind of mark/discoloration that the scanner leaves on the photo?

Interesting that almost no one answered the question you asked, they answered something that they thought that you asked.

If the scanner is flat bed, and the original a print then it will leave no marks, if it has an autofeed that is not functioning correctly. it might possibly leave a mark on the original, but no one could really be sure what caused that mark.

However, if you are drum scanning negatives or transparencies, or using an oil scanning adapter on something like an Epson V750 that is different and that does affect the original.

Very few people will use oil when scanning - I do only when it is absolutely essential, but when I do it gives a much better quality scan.
