Here are some more information for Rebel Battery:

Clean energy storage devices hold the key. The VRB battery, which stands for vanadium redox battery, is a technology which is being described by many as "showing some real promise in stabilizing energy distribution in renewable systems" (well sphere.com). This battery, which is not what we typically think of when we hear the word, will help store and deliver power to the energy grid. Right now, many of the problems being faced by those who would prefer a switch to renewable power sources includes storage of the collected energy especially for the peak times, or those times when the demand is at its highest. Solar power is collected during the day, but without a way to store it, it is not of any use at night when we need our lights to see or want to relax in front of the television for the evening.
Other methods of storing or creating energy have been used, including hydroelectric energy where water is used to create electricity and then pumped back uphill and into reservoirs during off peak periods. "Another method that has gained some recognition in the past is with compressed air." (well sphere 2008) While these methods may be good ideas, building a huge hydroelectric facility is not going to be cost effective in every area of the country. Batteries as energy storage will still remain in the forefront as the most widely accepted and probably the most cost effective method that is in development up to this point.
The element vanadium, which was discovered in the 19th century and named for the Norse goddess Vanadis (goddess of youth, love, and beauty), was first used in a project with NASA and flow batteries. The flow battery is a simple concept with complex formulations: liquid electrolytes are pumped from external tanks to a cell stack. Each cell stack contains a different elemental form of vanadium/sulfuric acid. Ions are exchanged through the charge/discharge cycle after traveling through a hydrogen-ion polymer membrane. (Wellsphere.org 2008)
In simple English: a flow battery has outer tanks and an inner cell. The flow of the solution (in this case vanadium and sulfuric acid) travels into the cell and interacts with what is there. Ions switch from positive to negative or negative to positive and energy is then produced or stored until needed, as in during peak times.

Xsi Rebel - Worth Every Dollar
I won't drivel on about details. The short of this review is that somewhere between professional and consumer, this is the most bang I could imagine for the buck. I did a lot of research and decided that the next logical step would be to just wait for the 5D MarkII if you actually NEED a better camera than this. Except for the stock lens, which is probably fine for a new shooter to learn and play, I recommend first adding the 28-135 IS USM, used on Craigs List or EBay. That's the lens that came stock with several full frame bodies, and can be had for under $250 in excellent condition. It's a great range extender and infinitely better for shooting people than the stock lens. (100MM is a very good focal length for "people" pictures).
You will also find that adding the 430EX or EXII flash with a Sto-Fen makes a huge difference, and that if you are on a very slim budget, the Gary Fong Puffer makes the on board flash much less harsh.
So for under $1200 (I bought a lot more gear than that so I can make this recommendation with some breadth of experience), the camera, two lenses, and maybe the added flash makes a GREAT casual photography setup. Don't forget to buy a couple extra batteries and a LARGE (8GB+) memory card.
XSi Rebel - Great Camera!
There are plenty of reviews on the net. Just my 2 cents.
1. Stock battery is great - just came from Xmas party - more than 1000 RAW shots. 1/3 of them - w/flash. Battery is still alive!
2. Live view - not necessary, but great feature. Try to shoot something 2" from the floor or 2' above you. Love it!
3. It is lightweight. Your neck and back will thank you!
If you think about Nikon D60 - come to the store and compare them. D60 has better viewfinder, but overall I like XSi Rebel more, but it's up to you.
You'll not regret.
XSi Rebel - Wonderful SLR
I bought this digital camera to jump to professional pictures, after years of having several point and shoot portables cameras.
The difference is astonishing!. The quality, the detail, the color, the way the pictures look printed have made me realize I wasn't wrong about the change. Of course this device is bigger, heavier, less portable than my old ones, but the results obtained make me forget about these facts.
I highly recommend it!!!
XSi Rebel - Worth Every Penny
I am thrilled with my purchase of the XSi Rebel. This camera has exceeded my expectations. In comparing it with my friend's XTi (previous model in the rebel line) it has many great updates. It is lighter, buttons are places in more ergonomic positions. The lense it comes with is a great starter lense but I will be saving up for other as the 18-55mm while versatile does not meet all my needs. Also, in shopping around Amazon had the best price on this camera hands down and delivery was spot on.
Fantastic entry level product for the hobbyist or part time photographer. Highly recommended.

which battery should i buy as a replacement for my rebel, besides the one it comes with?
I heard you get between 100-200 shots with the one it comes with but I think I may be shooting more than that so I was wondering what battery and where can i get it for a reasonable price? and what you guys all use? links would be greatly appreciated, thanks
I am taking pictures at my uncles wedding so i will be using it pretty much all day, i mean its at his house so if worst comes to worst i could always charge it a litte but do you think the battery it comes with would last a few hours
Your rebel should come with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack and charger. They last a surprisingly long time. But if you think you will absoultely need another one try best buy, I'm guessing they should be aroung 50$ or less
Hanging monkeys prompt complaint
The first neighbor called the Sheriff’s Office to complain about a flag in front of a Bowman Way home. According to the neighbor, the flag was a “racist banner of a rebel flag with a monkey.”
