Check the bail and roller, also replacing it if is broken or damaged. Fourth, put in the new bail in the bail arm. Next, using your pliers, remove the old spring. Check the spring and replace it if it is also broken, if not, put the spring back in place. Next, put the roller back on the bail and arm. Lastly, make sure the lock nut on the bail is tight.

If you find your springs and drag washers on a bait casting reel is not working, here is a guide to fixing it. First, remove the handle nut and take out the handle. Don't lose the drag or drag washers with it. Next, take out the plate screws, then remove the spool and the plate. Third, take out the bridge screws attached to the plate. Next, take out the bridge, spring, ratchet, and the main gear as well. Take out the spring and drag washers and clean and lubricate those as well. Next, replace any part that is not working and broken or worn down. Lastly, put everything back together in opposite order of what was installed.

Lastly, to fix the spool spring on a fly reel, first remove the cover on the axle and the old spool spring. Put in the new spring attached to the catch. Make sure it is aligned and put the axle back on.

How do I fill a spinning reel with line?

I am new to fishing and I recently got a new spinning reel and rod. I don't however know how to fill the reel with line. I've searched the web but I can't find anything detailed enough to help me. I've never filled a reel before. Anyone have any links to video or detailed instructions on how to do it?

i dont have any links however it is pretty simple all you have to do is tie the line around the spool and close the bail. then have a buddy stick a pencil throught the line(most line packages have holes in the center) and the reel in with your friend holding the pencil and it will load you up. hope this helped and good luck fishing.
