The "squeeze technique" was developed by the famous sex research team of William H. Masters and Virginia E. Johnson (they married each other after they started working together). The squeeze technique was developed in the 1970's as a treatment for premature ejaculation which they defined as the man coming before his partner had an orgasm more than 50% of the time. Masters and Johnson were way ahead of their time and we owe a lot to their courage to work with people who were actually engaged in sexual intercourse and/or masturbation at a time when the sexual revolution wasn't really in full swing.

Many of their techniques are still recommended by sex therapists today including the squeeze technique. However, much has been learned since the 1970's and especially in the last couple of decades. Now, entire science journals are devoted exclusively to sex research. The squeeze technique is the old fashioned way to do things and it still works but there are far better techniques you can now use.

The way the squeeze technique works is just as the man is about to come during penetrative vaginal sex, he is supposed to pull out and squeeze his penis just below the head to subdue his erection (ouch!!). This is supposed to make him last longer. Now, there is a little more to it than this. Initially, the man is supposed to pay very close attention to how his body feels as he builds to climax and learn the signs his body gives just before he ejaculates. In this way, he can recognize the signs and not accidentally ejaculate before he uses the squeeze method.

The squeeze technique does work but it can be uncomfortable to perform, and more importantly, it can interrupt the flow and rhythm of natural sex. Not only does this make sex less enjoyable for the male, it makes it very difficult for the women to climax because she doesn't have a constant gradual build-up of sexual tension.

So, although this old technique does work to make the male last longer, and therefore by definition "cures" premature ejaculation, it is not a technique that most couples prefer these days. There are far better natural techniques that don't interrupt the natural flow of sex. It's great for both the man and woman for the man to last longer in bed but you certainly don't want to sacrifice the best part of sex to achieve this!
