Mcdonalds has been banned from making toys that relate to a recent film, why?

I have heard that mcdonalds have been banned from making any toys (happy meals) that relate to any recent film that is viewing in the cinemas. I know its advertising the film a bit, but theres always advertising, even when you dont notice it!So why has mcdonalds been banned the right to make toys? Answers would be great, its been nagging in my head for ages, I cant see any threat with having the toys, can you?
