The size of your bird feeder will determine the size of the screen and wood materials you require to build you bird feeder.

Step One:

Measure your wood to fit the size of bird feeder you would like to enjoy. Make sure that you are keeping in mind that the screen will fit inside of these pieces. Keep in mind that the side pieces are smaller than your pieces for length. You will want to accomplish a rectangular frame. I suggest you make the length a foot, and the sides at least a half of a foot long.

Step Two:

After you have measured your pieces accordingly, use a regular or a power saw if you have one piece, from which you have to cut out the pieces to fit your frames and legs.

Step Three:

You must create grooves on the inside of each of the legs to slide your screen into. You can use a saw for this; just measure the edging on your screen to find out the groove size. It is okay if the grooves are a bit bigger because you can still rest the screen on the grooves. Just make sure you can slide the screen in and out.

Step Four:

Now you are ready to assemble the frame. Use nails to secure the sides to the length portion of your frame. Then after that has been completed, you will want to attach the legs to the frame to make it stand up. You will do this by nailing the legs to the side of the frame structure. Remember where you placed your grooves; they will want to be as high up on the leg as possible so the screen is close to the top of the feeder frame.

Step Five:

Now that you have constructed the feeder, just slide the tray in. Place your birdseed on the try. Being able to detach is a nice feature so you can keep it clean. Now you are finally ready to find a place to put it. Congratulations on constructing your own feeder from your free bird feeder plans. How to Attach a Tray to my monitor?

I am interesed in attaching small containers/trays (imagine a ash tray but not that heavy) to my flat screen monitor. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to attach the tray to the monitor without it scratching my monitor.

Ideally, I would like the option for the container to be next to the side of the monitor or to be hidden behind the monitor. This would mean that whatever the container is attached to must be flexible enough so that I can slide the tray to the back of the monitor.
Any ideas?
