I just bought a sealife underwater digital camera, should I buy a strobe also?

I just bought the DC800. Will it take good photos underwater without a flash or strobe. The strobes cost around $300 so I don't want to buy one unless its really needed. Thanks.

It depends on where you take pictures. Shallow or deep. The deeper you go the less light, also the clarity of the water plays a big part of it as well. Large strobes light up particulate matter more than smaller flashes. From the specs. it looks like a nice camera. Also remember that strobes make the camera more bulky to carry around as well.
I would try it out first before spending more money. 90-95% of divers who take pictures don't use Strobes. Although the best pictures taken are often with strobes.
