Is a Home Warranty Worth the Money?
Is a home warranty worth the money? Considering the cost of repairing and/or replacing appliances and major household systems, a home warranty, in most cases, is certainly worth the money. When a major mechanical breakdown occurs it can cost the homeowner thousands of dollars. The sad thing is these breakdowns and failures are usually unexpected and there never seems to be any savings stashed away to cover the cost. Problems with appliances such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washer or dryer are not covered by a home insurance policy. Manufacturer warranties on these appliances usually expire within a year or two. All too often homeowners find themselves in a predicament costing them large sums of money. In many cases this can be rectified with a home warranty.
When should a homeowner purchase a home warranty? A home warranty is not a plan that can be bought and used for the life of a home. A home warranty is bought prior to the sale of a home and acts and insurance for the new homeowner. Selling a home can be much easier if there is a home warranty involved. Shopping for a new home is a costly endeavor. People borrow large amounts of money to purchase real estate, not expecting or wanting to spend extra on repairs for appliances, systems and things such as roofing. These hidden costs all too often leave new homeowners in difficult positions. A home warranty guards the new homeowner against these unforeseen problems. Sometimes issues with different household features such as appliances pop up in the closing days of a real estate deal. This can make a closing difficult and cost the original owner large amounts of money they hadn't intended on spending. These issues might also persuade the prospective buyer to pull out of the deal, resulting in an unsuccessful transaction. The seller must then carry out the necessary repairs before putting their home back on the market. Once the breakdowns occur it's too late to buy a home warranty. A home warranty can only be applied to working systems and appliances. The age of the item doesn't matter as long as it is in working order.
When shopping for a home warranty it's a good idea to compare policies from company to company. Prices will differ as will coverage. It's imperative when buying a home warranty to inquire about deductibles which are the amounts a homeowner is expected to pay when or if they are required to use their home warranty. When shopping for a home warranty, the homeowner will ultimately discover that the cost of a policy is likely to be less than the cost of the service fee charged for repairs to household appliances and major systems. Considering this, a home warranty is definitely worth the money. Repairing household appliances, systems and exterior things such as roofing is expensive enough but replacing them can require outrageous amounts of money. A home warranty guards the homeowner against any worries regarding expensive repairs or replacement. Being relieved of these worries is certainly worth the money.
A home warranty benefits everyone involved in the sale of real estate. It's a definitely a great marketing asset, making the real estate much more likely to sell quickly. A home warranty is certainly a bonus for the person or people buying real estate. They can move into their new home without stressing about possible breakdowns and mechanical failures with plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and sewage for example. They can sleep easily at night knowing if their refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer or dryer gives them trouble they will not be stuck with expensive repair bills. Both the person selling the real estate and the person buying the property are guaranteed peace of mind with the purchase of a home warranty. Can a price-tag be put on peace of mind? If a home warranty is able to insure this, it is definitely worth the money.
It's obvious that a home warranty is worth the money so where can a homeowner learn more about home warranties? Many people are not even aware home warranties exist. This is unfortunate since they can make life so much easier when selling or buy a home. There are many companies that sell home warranties and have plans designed to fit different needs and budgets. Finding these home warranty providers can be as simple as flipping through the yellow pages. One excellent resource for home warranty information is the Internet. With so many companies, including insurance and home warranty companies, doing business online nowadays, the Internet is a terrific place to research this topic. It's also a great way to comparison shop when buying a home warranty. Once a homeowner does their homework and learns just what is available to them, they'll understand exactly why a home warranty is worth the money.

Turf warranty pays off
(May 4, 2010) - Believe it or not, Ron Joyce Stadium -- home to the McMaster Marauders football team -- is getting new artificial turf after only two years. The turf is being replaced under warranty after the university and the manufacturer became concerned about how quickly it was wearing. A worker said most of the used turf has been sold.
