can you swim in water after you get your belly button pierced IF you use a water proof bandage?

i'm getting it pierced on moday and i'm going camping on wednesday and i would be going swimming. would i be able to put a water proof bandage over the piercing?

thats exactly what my piercer told me to do. he even gave me some free ones lol. he recommended nexaderm 3m absolute waterproof bandages. theres different variations, but if you look you might be able to find ones that are like, only clear and when you put them on it creates a seal around your belly button. its like a little air bubble but you can still see the piercing. its pretty nifty =]

ps- dont let the ppl saying you'll get an infection scare you. as long as you dutifully clean it, keep it clear of water AND dirt from camping. (perhaps you should even wear the bandaid to bed) you should be okay. just make sure you dont go in the water for even a SECOND without the bandaid. cuz all the bacteria..yuck. just be reeally careful =]
