I want this for xmas but i would like to know why you love it, hate it or just the pros and cons of it. i'm just trying to find a camera for my dad to buy me and this is the one i'm liking the most!

It has very good image quality, very good on batteries. It has aperture/shutter priority. Aperture/shutter priority is very helpful in taking photos. Learn this. 12X optical zoom is plenty.
